Magic System

In a world where magic is everything, it is important to understand how it interacts on the site. There are two parts to Magic in the world that determine how your spells work. That is, Magic Attribute, which would be the element that your magic takes on. Each person is only able to control a single element of magic for their entire lives. The other side, is magic forms. These are the labels for what spells are able to do. Any element can be used to cast any form of magic, it just takes a little imagination. Such as being able to cast a Flame Recovery Spell.

Magic: Magic「魔法 Mahō」 is the refinement and application of magic power to perform a specific function, or spell.[15] There are three ways that a mage can develop their magical abilities: natural talent, hard work, and experiencing a life-or-death situation.

Below we will list all of the different Magic Forms, followed by all of the Magic Attributes that we have on this site.

Magic Forms

Barrier Magic: This form of magic allows the user to create magical barriers at will.

Communication Magic: This form of magic allows the user to transmit and project auditory and visual information. For communication over long distances, the user must have previously marked the place or person with their magic.

Compound Magic: This form of magic allows the users to combine multiple different spells or magics to create a single, more powerful spell. Can be used to combine multiple elements if more than one user participates.

Creation Magic: This form of magic allows the users to shape various entities, from creature to objects. The types or shapes of entities that could be created are limitless, thus making it a very versatile magic that nearly every mage could use for various purposes. Although, it could create almost anything, the users are still required to use the correct spell in order to create the entity they desired.

Curse Magic: This form of magic allows the user to include additional lasting negative effects to spells. The effects can range from dulled senses, to debilitating sickness and even temporarily blocking magic abilities.

Healing Magic: This form of magic allows the user to channel mana and use it to accelerate one's own or others' regenerative process.

Reinforcement Magic: This form of magic allows the user to increase their physical abilities, like strength and speed. It can also be used to enhance Allies' physical abilities. This will enhance speed and strength to either equal to the users Mana Control stat OR +3 if it is already equal to the mana control stat.

Restraining Magic: This form of magic allows the users to bind and restrict their opponent's movements. Additionally, this magic also disables the target's ability to use magic from the grimoire. However, it does not restrict the usage of a magic tool.

Seal Magic: This form of magic allows the user to place magical seals on a target. These seals have myriad purposes, including containing magic power and crystallizing mana.

Spirit Magic: Spirit magic is a rare form of magic that allows the user to summon an elemental spirit to aid them. These spirits bond with and serve individual mages who have the same magic attribute as them.

Tool Magic: This form of magic involves the use of items, equipment and/or weapons that magic is cast through.

Transformation Magic: This form of magic allows a user to transform themselves into another person. It has been shown that users of this magic are fully capable of transforming into different ages, body types, and genders.

Trap Magic: This form of magic allows the user to create and set magical traps. The user draws a magic circle, pours mana into it, and places it in the path of a person or object. The more complicated a trap is, the more time it takes to draw. Similarly, more powerful traps require more mana. Most often they are placed on surfaces, such as floors and walls, but they can also be placed in midair.

Weakening Magic: This form of magic allows the user to lower and weaken the physical abilities of opponents.




Magic Attributes

When one is creating a character, you will do two rolls of the dice, the first will determine which of the following forms of magic you gain and the second will determine if you get a three or four clover Grimoire. Below, we will list the magic attributes one may gain as well as a short description of it. These will be listed with the corresponding order that it will be on the dice.

1. Earth Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate earth at will.
2. Fire Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate fire at will.
3. Water Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate water at will.
4. Wind Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate wind at will.
5. Air Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to manipulate existing air at will.
6. Alchohol Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate alcohol at will.
7. Anti-Magic: This unique form of energy allows the user to nullify other forms of magic. It can be used to defend against attack spells, break through defensive spells, and nullify pre-placed magical afflictions, such as curses and traps. Using it to its full potential requires specific tools, which are stored within a grimoire. Wielders of this magic can have no magic power.
8. Ash Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate ash at will.
9. Beast Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to surround either a part of or their whole body with mana to mirror a certain animal and gain a magically enhanced version of that animal's traits and powers.
10. Black Earth Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate black soil at will.
11. Black Oil Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate a dark oily substance at will. The oil can shift rapidly between liquid and solid states.
12. Blood Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate their own blood at will.
13. Body Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to manipulate their bodily tissues, repairing any damage and altering their physique at will.
14. Bone Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate bones in their body at will.
15. Briar Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate briars at will.
16. Bronze Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate bronze at will.
17. Bubble Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate bubbles at will.
18. Catalyst Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to borrow the magic of others and then to use that magic as their own.
19. Chain Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate Chains
20. Charry Blossom Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate cherry blossoms at will.
21. Combustion Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate explosions at will.
22. Compass Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to manifest and manipulate compasses at will. These compasses can change the trajectory of other spells and make the user's attacks lock onto and follow a target, much like how a compass locks on to magnetic north.
23. Copper Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate copper at will.
24. Corundum Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate corundum at will.
25. Cotton Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate cotton at will.
26. Crystal Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate crystals at will.
27. Curse-Warding Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to create powerful curses and mark themselves and others. These curses can have various effects: deteriorating a person's body, resurrecting a person, corrupting natural mana arrays, or detonating a person's magic power.
28. Dark Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate darkness at will. The effect of Dark Magic is that it has the ability to absorb spells, namely from Light Magic, by creating small black holes or through dark spells cast at targets.
29. Dice Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to manifest at will dice that generate power in proportion to the number of pips rolled.
30. Eye Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to cast magical enchantments through their eyes.
31. Eyeball Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to manifest additional eyeballs that are free-floating, can turn and move in midair, and share vision with the user.
32. Feather Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate feathers at will.
33. Food Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate food at will.
34. Fungus Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate fungi at will.
35. Gamma Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate gamma radiation at will.
36. Gel Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate a gelatinous substance at will.
37. Glass Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate glass at will.
38. Gravity Magic:  This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate gravity at will.
39. Hair Magic:  This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate their hair at will.
40. Ice Magic:  This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate ice at will.
41. Imitation Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to copy another mage's spells at will. In order for the user to use another mage's spells, they are first required to touch the mage's grimoire. The user can only hold one spell that they have seen from that Grimoire at a time, and can only copy from one Grimoire at a time.
42. Impact Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate the force behind their physical attacks at will.
43. Iron Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate Iron at will.
44. Lava Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate Lava at will.
45. Light Magic:  This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate light at will.
46. Lightning Magic:  This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate lightning at will.
47. Magnetic Magic:  This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate magnetic forces at will.
48. Mercury Magic:  This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate mercury at will.
49. Mirror Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to create and manipulate mirrors of various shapes, sizes, and utility at will. The mirrors can be used for two-way communication, to reflect and weaponize rays of light, to create mirror duplicates of a desired person, and to move instantaneously between mirrors.
50. Mist Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate mist at will.
51. Moonlight Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate moonlight at will.
52. Mosquito Magic:  This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate metal needles with mosquito-like properties.
53. Mucus Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate mucus at will.
54. Mud Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate mud at will.
55. Painting Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to manifest a palette and a paintbrush which they use to generate and manipulate paint. Illustrations made with this paint can come to life.
56. Paper Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate paper at will.
57. Permeation Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to turn themselves invisible, erase their magical presence, and become intangible to all other types of magic.
58. Plant Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate plants at will.
59. Poison Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate poison at will
60. Poison Plant Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate poisonous plants at will.
61. Red Ochre Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate red clay at will.
62. Reincarnation Magic: This forbidden form of magic allows the users to revive the souls of the dead within the bodies of the living. This magic also requires a large amount of mana and a sacrifice. Red tattoos appear on the faces of those who are possessed when the reincarnated souls are in control.
63. Rock Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate rocks at will.
64. Sand Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate sand at will.
65. Sandstone Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate sandstone at will.
66. Scale Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to create sets of balance scales that can measure and in some cases manipulate various qualities.
67. Sealing Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to open and close objects, including other magic.
68. Shadow Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate shadows at will.
69. Shakudo Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate gold-copper at will.
70. Skin Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate the skin on the user at will.
71. Slash Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to create mana blades. The user can extend large blades from their forearms which are good for close-range combat, while projected slashes can be released for mid to long-range combat.
72. Smoke Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate smoke at will.
73. Snow Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate snow at will.
74. Song Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to cast various spells through their singing.
75. Soul Corpse Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to infuse their mana into corpses, allowing the user to reanimate and control them.
76. Sound Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate sounds at will.
77. Spatial Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to manipulate space at will.
78. Star Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate stars at will.
79. Steel Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate steel at will.
80. Stone Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate stones at will.
81. Sword Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate swords at will.
82. Thread Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate threads at will.
83. Tree Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate trees at will.
84. Vine Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate vines at will.
85. Vortex Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate magical whirlwinds at will.
86. Wing Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate angel-like wings at will.
87. World Tree Magic: This magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate gigantic world trees at will. The branches and roots of world trees are excellent for binding, allowing the user to capture enemies and stop enemy attacks by grabbing them mid air. This magic is also capable of absorbing the mana from others in order to create trees as large as a city.

[NOTE:] When making a character that belongs to a noble house, one may choose either the element that is tied to the noble house OR do a roll. If a house has two potential attributes, one may pick from either of them. The creation of Noble Houses is monitored heavily and the process is very selective, so don't just try to make one to get whatever uber strong magic attribute you want.




Grimoires

Grimoires are magical items that greatly enhance the user's ability to use magic. They also serve as a written record for all of a user's spells. Most of a grimoire's pages are empty at first; as a grimoire owner grows and develops as a person, the grimoire grows and develops with them, and new magic spells are inscribed into the book to fill the blank pages. When in use, a grimoire levitates either in front of or beside its owner and follows the mage wherever they go. When the grimoire owner activates a spell, the pages in the grimoire turn on their own until turning to the page containing the spell that the mage intends to use. Because a grimoire is connected to its owner, a mage cannot use another person's grimoire, and a grimoire will disintegrate as its owner dies.

There are two types of Grimoire here on the site, the common three-leaf clover Grimoire and then the rare and powerful four-leaf clover Grimoire. When you create your character, you will roll the magic attribute dice to determine your magic element and then the Grimoire dice to determine which of the two types of Grimoire you get. Each comes with its own bonus.

Three-Leaf Clover: This grants your spells +1 in their magic power.

Four-Leaf Clover: This grants your spells +2 in their magic power.

Spells System

Now that you know what magic is and what it can be capable of, you might be wondering how you can do these amazing things with your magic?! Spells are broken down into 5 tiers in and of themselves to determine the overall power of a spell and other important information. The five tiers are:

Copper: These are the weakest spells and require the least time and energy to use, but they often don't do much outside of simple usages of magic.

Bronze: These spells are more powerful, than copper level and would actually be considered something a magic knight would bother with using commonly. These take slightly more time to learn and use more mana, but are stronger.

Silver: These spells are the middle ground between power and mundane usefulness. They take quite a bit longer to learn and use more mana than even Bronze level, but they are more powerful as well.

Gold: These spells are much stronger than the others and have the designation closest to the top. This means they take quite a long time to learn and use a lot of mana, but this is balanced out by the pure power they can put out.

Platinum: These are the strongest spells a mage can have and often require long periods of time to master and use much more mana than the other tiers of spell.



Spells Stats Breakdown:

There are several relevant stats when creating a spell and the level of the spell determines the numbers these stats can be. Most spells will fall pretty simply into these categories with very few exceptions, but those will be worked out on a case by case basis with staff and the creator of said spells. Below are the things one will consider when creating a spell:

Name: The Name of your spell
Magic Type: The Specialty of magic
Magic Attribute: the attribute/element
Tier: what tier is it?
Mana Cost:
Mana cost is pretty simple in that it is how much mana your spells are using. This is directly proportionate to your Mana Pool stat as well as your Mana Control stat. The higher those stats are, the more high level spells you can put out before succumbing to fatigue. This is an honor system, so don't abuse it!

Copper: costs a NEGLIGIBLE amount of mana
Bronze: costs a SMALL amount of mana
Silver: costs a MODERATE amount of mana
Gold: costs a LARGE amount of mana
Platinum: costs a MASSIVE amount of mana
